CONCRETE LABORER II

JOB SUMMARY OVERVIEW

This is a skilled management labor position in which the employee constructs or repairs concrete structures

REPORTS TO

This position reports to the General Construction Superintendent.

WORK EXPECTATIONS

Essential duties include but are not limited to: Estimate concrete quantities, appropriate mixes of sand and cement if concrete is hand mixed. Interpret blueprints and read survey stakes to establish correct grades.Instruct and direct laborers and/or personally perform duties of cutting and placing reinforcing wire mesh, preparing appropriate sand and cement mixtures and placing, pouring, and rough leveling of concrete. Build, install, and align forms for various concrete structures and foundations. Finish concrete by floating, troweling, edging, and brushing in accordance with specification. Use hand tools and non-complex small power tools and perform minor maintenance as required. Perform other concrete-related duties as required

SKILLS

Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used for concrete jobs. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work. Able to read and interpret blueprints. Understand math functions and calculations involving fractions. Skill in the use and care of the tools and supplies related to the work. Maintain a professional and courteous manner. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Be able to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships

EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma Required Specialized Concrete Experience Required

WORK CONDITIONS

Inside/Outside Working Environment

Employee may be asked to lift heavy equipment and supplies. Employee may be asked to stand, climb, walk, balance, crouch, etc. for periods of time. Employee must be able to orally or visually communicate with supervisors and crew members

PAINTING LABOR II

JOB SUMMARY OVERVIEW

This is a labor position in which employee is responsible for prep and painting of all surfaces required.

WORK EXPECTATIONS

Apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets

Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes

Scrape, sandpaper, prime, tape areas, or seal surfaces prior to painting

Clean walls to ensure proper adherence

Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection

Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives

Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; move furniture and equipment as necessary

Remove paint splatters when finished

Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns

Utilize spray guns for large jobs

Work on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls

SKILLS

Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used for painting jobs

Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work

Skill in the use and care of the tools and supplies related to the work

Ability to work with others

Maintain a professional and courteous manner

Ability to follow oral and written instructions
