JOB SUMMARY OVERVIEW
This is a skilled position in which the employee assists with designing new buildings, interior remodeling of old buildings, and develops new ways of using existing buildings. Employee is involved in construction projects from the earliest stages through completion.
WORK EXPECTATIONS
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
- Meeting, preparing, and presenting design proposals to clients
- Producing detailed drawings
- Submitting plans to building & Safety Department and obtaining building permits
- Making site visits to check on progress
- Attending to problems that may arise during construction
SKILLS
- Strong visual awareness and eye for detail
- Strong drawing skills, with the ability to work in three dimensions
- Passion regarding buildings and the built environment
- Drafting computer knowledge
- General Computer knowledge
- Civil Design knowledge
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Be able to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma Required
- 2 Year Degree in Drafting or College Degree in Architecture required
- Knowledge working with AutoCAD required
- Knowledge of Revit and/or Sketchup preferred
WORK CONDITIONS
Mostly office/inside work
Sitting/computer monitor viewing for long periods of time
Some site/vendor office visits

SKILLED CONSTRUCTION
This is a skilled position in which employee is responsible for the building of structures and buildings, loading and unloading materials, working with concrete, machines, assisting carpenters, or any other construction jobs that may be assigned.
WORK EXPECTATIONS
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Assist in building structures for business and construction sites
Remove trees and other construction debris as necessary
Pump concrete, grout, cement, sand, and/or plaster
Operate some small machinery
Assist in any other construction tasks assigned
SKILLS
Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used for construction jobs
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work
Understand math functions and calculations involving fractions
Skill in the use and care of the tools and supplies related to the work
Ability to work with others
Maintain a professional and courteous manner
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Be able to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred

Inside/Outside Working Environment
Employee may be asked to lift heavy equipment and supplies
Employee may be asked to stand, climb, walk, balance, crouch, etc. for periods of time
Employee must be able to orally or visually communicate with supervisors and crew members
